Hi, I met jo on through bath uni and she told me that you were a bit of a keen artist, so me being nosey wanted to see your artwork. I have to say, being an artist myself, wasn't really sure what to expect, considering jo had mentioned your work was... well...dark. However I saw your work and was completely blown away! I think your work is incredible. I can't stress enough how much you should have more belief in what you do. I havn't seen anything like it. It's original, funny, dark, disturbing but amazing.
I hope you continue to produce some more excellent pictures, and persue a career in it, i'm sure you will secceed.
My email is edwardattridge@hotmail.co.uk in case you have any galleries. Thanks eddie.

How does one write this ? A description, an explanation, an excuse even of one’s work, to me seems a somewhat stressful exercise. I find it difficult to give answers to something of which I have limited understanding, therefore, I would no more want to confuse a prospective viewer or give false appreciation than, say, a builder explaining why he has just built a house. We are all familiar with the artist standing in front of their creation, proclaiming devout mysticism and thereby absolving themselves of any coherent explanation, replacing the emphasis back onto the spectator as, ‘ seer ‘ ? Psychic ? Pseudo artist ? Perhaps this is a weakness ? An error on my part, I am a fraud, waiting to be found out, ousted from his studio, paints confiscated. Theme and meaning, rightly or wrongly, remain elusive to me, however, I feel this in no way detracts or degrades from the process itself. In a way, I paint and simply see what happens. A great artist might, in the end, be stimulated by the thought that each picture might be the last…I’m stimulated by the fact that each picture might be the first.
